Nelly The Elephant

Jacket - Fat Face*, Top - ASOS, Shorts - Fat Face*, Shoes - Topshop

Ciao! Here I am, still in Italy, still thinking I have a better tan than I do, still squinting like nobodies business and still eating and drinking much more than is recommended. Today I thought I would show you a lovely little two piece from Fat Face. I haven't shopped at Fat Face for a very long time, actually not since it was my Dad's favourite shop (Hi Dad!!) but on browsing their website the other day (check out their new arrivals here!) I found they actually had some really great stuff, especially for summer. This elephant print two piece jumped out at me immediately, and although it is really too hot for a jacket in Italy (32 degrees when these photos were taken at 7:30 PM...don't make me leave!) I think they look great together so threw it over my shoulders anyway.

I'm flying back home on Saturday (nooo!) and moving straight down to London to start my new job so it is all a bit go! go! go! here. I will try and keep updating the blog as often as possible, and should have another photo diary coming up soon as well so stay tuned! Hope you're all enjoying your summer!

*This post was in collaboration with Fat Face. All opinions are my own.

Italy: A few Pics #1

Hat - Topshop, Shoes - Topshop (black version here), Jeans - Missguided, Shirt - Topshop

'Ello! Just a quick, rather picture heavy catch up post! I'm currently on vacay (lol) in the very, very south of Italy (the Puglian region if any of you know it!) where the temperature is averaging around 32 degrees Celsius every day so I have no complaints and for once in my life am actually building up a rather respectable tan, if I do say so myself. Anyway, heres a little snippet of my holiday - I've inserted outfit links as much as possible too, aren't I good!?

First stop on arrival, lunch (of course). We opted for a four person catch of the day fish (I think it could be something like red mullet but most likely am wrong) served with Puglian pasta. It were fab.
We can't get enough of this light. It's bigger than it looks and it looks amaziiiing at night (see later pic)
Top - Missguided, Trousers - ASOS(bargain)
Just the basic holiday essentials
Jumpsuit - ASOS (similar
Top - ljc designs
Why only put Christmas lights up at Christmas, eh?
Told ya the light was good, didn't I?
My mum, pretending to be a pro fisherman.
Owen, ditto.
Bikini - Missguided, Playsuit - ASOS (similar
Myself, the actual pro fisherman. I think it is safe to say we didn't go hungry that night with this whopper...
Last but not least, a picture of an ice cream that 2 seconds later ended up face down in the floor. I probably shouldn't have taken so long taking this fantastic photo...

Until next time!

Graduation Round 2

Me: Dress - Warehouse, Shoes - New Look (similar and similar)
Owen: Suit - Next, Shoes - Next
Adam (the bro): Suit - Next, Shoes - Next
Mum: Dress - Hush, Flatforms - Zara

After 6 long days (just kidding, time really is flying at the mo!) graduation number 2 rolled around. This time it was my turn! Unfortunately I failed to get a good picture of just me 'n' my dress so I've just compiled a couple of photos from the day to show you all. Once again it was a great day, not quite as sunny as it was for Owen's but the rain managed to stay away and I managed to not fall off the stage so all in all it was a success.

It really felt like the end of an era and I can't quite believe I have said goodbye to the University of Birmingham and Chemistry for good. Anybody thinking about applying to university in good ol' Brum really should go for it, it's a beautiful campus and the locals tend to be pretty friendly too. As for Selly Oak, the student-y suburb, you'll never see somewhere more beautiful...well...maybe you will, but it's not a bad place to live with your friends for 3 years! As for Chemistry...well, I have no regrets there - its not easy but if you love the subject then you should definitely give it a go.

University, all in all, was an amazing experience and I wouldn't change anything about the last 3 years at all. If any of my wonderful friends are reading this, including the very best housemates over the last 2 years (along with surrogate housemates like Emily and Kat) and my fabulous Chemistry group, thanks for the best three years! You've made it a real pleasure (and that's as cringey and emotional as I will ever get)!

Graduation Day #1

Me: Dress - ASOS (similarish and another lace-up number), Shoes - New Look (similar and similar)
Owen: Suit - Next, Shoes - Next

Whoops! I forgot to take any actual outfit photos but Thursday was all about Owen and not about what random attire I decided on for the day, so you will have to let me off. This is because (as I'm sure you've worked out already from my cryptic clues in the title and from the photo) yesterday was Owen's graduation! He isn't just a pretty face y'know.

It was a lovely day, really warm and really great to see everyone looking so happy. England does have the tendency to be a bit grumpy, so big events like this just remind me that the British actually can smile! It was great to celebrate everyones hard work and just shows that with a bit of effort you can achieve anything. Pep talk over.

I have my graduation coming up next week and am still not entirely sure what to wear! If anybody has any suggestions then please leave them down below!! Congratulations, again, Owen!

Summer Faithfuls

Sunglasses - Topshop (similar), Crop Top - Missguided, Skirt - Topshop, Sandals - River Island, Watch - Marc Jacobs (similar)

With a full time job starting in August, I am spending a lot of my last month of freedom on holiday as well as going to big events such as my graduation (I still can't believe I've actually managed to finish a degree in Chemistry!). Therefore I thought, why not blog my summer outfits?! I know I have been pretty crappy with posts lately but sometimes life just takes over! With both mine and my boyfriends graduations coming up, a holiday and a collaboration with Fat Face there should be a fair few new posts coming your way!

So here's to the first... I'm currently spending a couple of days in Mallorca with my dad and this was what I wore to dinner last night. Nothing crazy really, but an injection of colour (rarely seen in my wardrobe) makes this outfit a little different to my usual monochrome get ups. I've had this skirt for at least four years now which I realise isn't much use to you guys but this is an item that I get out every single summer - along with my havianas - and have certainly got my wear out of. Originally from Topshop I wish I bought it in more colours the first time round! I've linked a couple of similar ones - here, here and my personal favourite, here - and I can not stress enough how much of a summer wardrobe basic this kind of skirt is. Snap one up - you won't regret it!

My crop top is just a Missguided number and I'm sure will be worn countless times. My sandals are also a year or two old (sorry - I always find it so annoying when I read that on other blogs!) but are from River Island. I always find River Island quite hit and miss and tend to only buy things I see in magazines or in other people's blogs. Sometimes they do have some real gems though, like these glitzy things. Here are a couple of other bejewelled babes you might like - here, here and here.

How are you guys spending your summer? I hope you made the most of the UK heatwave we just had!
